- As soon as we walk into the waiting room, we both do a quick sweep looking for magazines. This is essential, because we'll be stuck in one spot for about 3-4 hours!
- Usually we have our pick of the stations....if only we had our pick of the nurses! The lady who we were usually lucky enough to get as a nurse was truly memorable. She was never very friendly and usually seemed like she was too busy to really talk to us. We especially didn't like her because she was so rough with the IV's. Sorry, to any of you who are a little squeamish, but she really didn't seem to understand that people can feel those things when you stick them in! One time, she forgot to take the IV out of Jess's hand after she had finished the treatment. Jess actually had to remind her to do it! This last time that we were there, the same nurse was there and did the worst thing yet. She accidentally put a bunch of saline inside Jess's hand!! Apparently she missed the vein, so there was a big bump on the top of Jess's hand--it looked really weird! Then, as we were leaving, she said, "Well, hopefully your skin will just soak that up." Jess and I were thinking, "Yeah, hopefully!" You have to wonder how people like that ever ended up in the nursing profession!?!
- I usually tried to bring a game or two of some sort. This last time I brought word search puzzles. There's a website (I can't remember the name of it anymore) that helps you create a word search puzzle. So, I made one about Crohn's disease using words that had to do with all that we'd been through this last year. The other puzzles were about Musicals and Candy and stuff like that. I didn't realize this, but Jess is actually a wiz at these puzzles, so I was only able to beat her once. After that she beat me soundly every time!
- Although the trips to Marinette would be worth it just for the treatments, we decided to make them even more worth it by stopping at the mall each time. We always managed to find some things to buy, and more often than not we would get matching things! :) But when there's only 4 stores to choose from, it's a little more understandable that we would end up buying the same things.
- Can I just say that when there's a Buy One Get One sale at Payless, Jess is the best person to shop there with? I can always be sure that if I find a pair of shoes I want, Jess will come through and find a pair she wants so we can get the discount together! ;)
- I will never forget the time Jess stood up to the manager of Applebees because he wouldn't give her Macaroni and Cheese since it's not on their adult menu! HA! He finally gave in, but after that Jess decided it wasn't worth the trouble and just got a Fajita Rollup instead. :D
- Sometimes we stopped at Culvers for some ice cream. I always love Culvers ice cream, but doing drive through with Jess is a whole new experience. You see, her mentality is, "If you can't decide what candy to put in your Concrete shake, just put all of your favorites in!" So, I would have to explain to the nice lady at the drive through window that we wanted Heath bar, Oreos, and Reeses Peanut Butter Cups all in one Concrete shake!

A Look Back
This picture is kinda funny 'cause I look like I don't have a neck! HA! :) But believe it or not, this is the only picture I have from the times that I took Jess to Marinette this year for Remicade treatments! On April 20th, we had the last one; so, I thought I'd take this opportunity to do a little reminiscing about our trips to Marinette.
