Demolition Derby

Last year when I was working at the Information Desk, I was looking throught the newspaper one day and read an add about the fair at Norway and that they were going to have a Demolition Derby. Perhaps some of you are unfamiliar with Demo Derbies, but they are one of my family's favorite things to go to at home. Basically, the idea is to put 6 or 7 junky old cars in a sectioned-off portion of dirt track and then let the cars crash each other until there is only one left running. It is really one of the dumbest and most hilarious forms of entertainment man has ever invented! So, we decided to go to Norway's Demo Derby last year and had such a great time that we decided to do it again this year! :) The Derby was Friday night last week and this year Laura's parents were able to go along with us as well. We had such a great time! There were lots of good crashes and we nearly lost our hearing because the engines were so loud, but that's all part of the fun! ;)
After the Derby was over, we bought some tickets and went on a couple of the carnival rides. We went on one called the "Loop Plane" that was very scary (I do not like going upside down!) and one called the "Spider" (pictured above). We had so much fun! I screamed through the entire ride on the "Loop Plane" and laughed through the entire ride on the "Spider." (It didn't help that Jess and Laura were in the car next to ours and Jess was attempting to do impersonations of the stupid laugh from the movie "Oklahoma"! And then Jordan was leaning into the spins to make them spin faster which made me laugh even harder!)
