Doctor appointment = FUN!

Most people don't think of an appointment with the doctor as a fun time, but Jess and I have managed to give it a whole new meaning. We usually try to find something fun to do together after the appointment. On Wednesday this past week Jess had an appointment in Iron Mountain. We spent a little over an hour in the Doctor's office; it was mostly just an opportunity for us to touch base with the doctor (Jess's main doctor is at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN). Afterwards, we went to the strip mall down the street. This mall is SO tiny; but being such good shoppers, we still managed to have a good time. There were a few good deals. We found a great deal on a couple of Russell-Stover chocolate-carmel candy bars at Hallmark. ;) Heehee! We took a picture of ourselves all fancied-up at Claire's. Then we went to WalMart (because no trip to Iron Mountain would ever be complete without a stop at WalMart!) and picked up some things for the weekend before coming home.Just an update for those of you who have been praying for my family:
Jessica was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia on December 20, 2006. We praise the Lord that it was caught in its early stages due to her routine blood tests to monitor her Crohn's Disease. We are also very thankful that there is a pill available for leukemia patients that has a very high success rate of putting the cancer into remission for many years. So far Jessica's body has responded well to the treatment and all of her blood counts have returned to normal. She is here at Northland this semester and will graduate in May with an Associate's Degree. Praise the Lord for how He has been working, and please pray for Jess, my mom, and for the rest of my family as we face this new trial God has placed in our lives.
