Announcing My NEW Project

One of the things that I love about married life is cooking! Cooking for Jordan is fun because he's not at all afraid to try new things. :) But, seriously, I love looking through cookbooks/magazines for new recipes. My favorite cookbooks are Better Homes & Gardens and Betty Crocker. I also really like the Kraft Food magazine...lots of great recipes and it's free! :) I'm not really one of those people who likes to cook 'fancy' dishes. Since Jordan and I both get off work at 5, I can't really have a great supper waiting for him when he gets home; so if a recipe has too many ingredients or steps involved, I usually don't really consider it as a possibility. However, when it comes to baking, I love taking my time. To me, making and baking cookies, pies, and breads from scratch is a great way to wind down and relax. The only thing that keeps me from doing it too often is that after it's made, we have to eat it...have you ever thought about how long it takes for 2 people to eat a pie or a cake? Haha! So, I pretty much save my baking for times when I know that we will have company or can share it with some friends. :)

For a while now I have been working on a recipe blog where I can store all my tried-and-true favorite recipes online where they would be easier to find (right now most of my recipes are on scraps of paper, cardboard, and 3x5 cards!) and also be available to me no matter where I am. My one stipulation was that they must all be recipes that I have actually used. I'm still not finished putting all my recipes on my recipe blog, but I decided that with 45 recipes currently posted, the blog was big enough to publish. I hope this will be a fun thing that some of you can enjoy and get some use out of as well! Oh, and if you would like to share some of your favorite recipes, please send them to me! We love trying new things, and I would much rather try something that someone recommended to me than blindly trying something out of a cookbook!

Follow this link to my recipe blog (it will also be listed on the sidebar now):
