A Very Maintenance Christmas

Last year was the first year of the Maintenance Christmas Tree. This year, even before Thanksgiving, the guys started asking if we were going to have a Maintenance Christmas Tree again. So, being the compliant person I am (and not wanting to disappoint their gentle hearts), I reassured them that we would once again have a Maintenance Christmas Tree. So, the Monday after Thanksgiving, I started bugging Kelly to get us a tree. On Tuesday he followed through and brought in a very appropriate tree for us. This year's tree is much bigger than last year's, and it was actually cut down, so there are no roots to worry about! ;) (Last year's tree was just accidentally uprooted while they were getting a tree for another department, which is how we ended up with a tree in the first place.) I asked Mr. Krzywicki to get us some lights for it this year, so we have definitely upgraded! :) The guys have been very helpful in finding decorations for the tree. They just walk in at random and add their 'ornaments' that they find lying around the shop! It's really pretty funny! But I try not to laugh at them so as not to discourage their spirit! ;) The tree really adds a degree of cheerfulness to the morale here that is unmistakable. Not that the guys have a bad morale normally...just that the tree makes things a little more 'jolly.' Hard to explain....

So, I took pictures (since I always take pictures of everything I do...haha!) and thought I'd post them (since you all love seeing the pictures of everything I do, right? Haha!). I did hesitate a little at the thought of posting these right after all the nice comments I received from some of you about my Christmas decorations down at the apartment. I didn't want to discredit myself! ;) But, I figured you all would understand that a beautiful tree with lovely ornaments and bows just wouldn't fit in here...nor would it be appreciated! ;) So, here's the pix...I highlighted some of my favorite ornaments...hope you get a good laugh! :D

Jenn...I just had to laugh...when I read your post I thought you said Christmas Tea! I was trying to picture that and even clicked on the link to your old post and still thought it said tea. Now that would be a sight!

Jenn,

I'm sorry I missed the start of the Christmas tree tradition. I didn't really see anything from the woodshop. If I were there, I'd throw a handful of biscuits on the tree. That would spice it up. Tell Jason I said to put some biscuits on it for me. :)
