Teen Sledding Activity

This morning we got up early (Well, okay, 8:30 is not that early; it just seems early when it's a Saturday morning!) for our exciting sledding activity with the teens. Last year we had a little trouble scheduling in this annual activity because of a lack of snow. This year we had no such hindrance! We still have snow in great abundance, and today turned out to be perfect sledding weather: not too much wind; cold enough for us to not get hot walking up the hill; and the snow had started to melt a little over the last couple days, which made the hill very slick! Nine of the teens were able to come, and we had a blast! Norway has a nice big sledding hill, and we had the whole thing to ourselves!

Jordan jumping over Bryan
(Yes, this was staged! ;) There was a jump, and some of the guys were having a lot of fun entertaining us by going off it, at the cost of their sore tailbones! Jordan and Bryan thought it would be funny to stage a stunt, since neither of them felt like sacrificing their backsides to the amusement of the group!)

Quick interviews with the girls

I took video clips of the guys going off the jump; some of them are pretty funny, but probably mostly just to the people who know the kids in the youth group. :) I am working on editing the videos, but I'm afraid it's going to be too big for Blogger to allow me to publish it here. I am going to put it on Facebook, though; so if you have Facebook and want to see it, visit our Norway Youth Group group! :)

After sledding for about an hour, we headed back to the church where we watched a video and then had lunch together. Of course, a teen activity would not be complete without a game or two of Mafia in which Jordan is traditionally 'killed' in the first round or two!!! Haha! :D

What a wonderful blessing it has been to be involved with the youth group at Norway! I love the times we get to spend together! It is so exciting to see them grow in the Lord...I wonder what the coming years will bring for them?! I wish we were going to be here to watch their lives unfold; but I am determined not to lose touch with these dear friends!!
