Last Friday, I got to host my first shopping crew in Des Moines! It was Grandma, Julia, and Kaden!!! They arrived around 10, and we spent about 3 hours or so garage-saling together. Some of the sales were better than others, but Julia did find a few little outfits and books for Kaden and a frame, Grandma found a cute bag, and I found some beautiful pink nail polish and a wall-mount with a chalk board, a couple picture frames, and hooks for keys and such (it's SO COOL!). :) Gotta do more garage-saling; I think I'm addicted now! It's a totally different experience when you're living in a city, that's for sure! Then, we came back to the apartment for some lunch (
Club Quesadillas and apples and dip) and to regroup a little before hitting the mall. :D Plus, I think Kaden was in need of some Uncle-Jordan-time. They watched a little baseball together and Jordan explained to Kaden the ins-and-outs of the remote control. I know Jason's been working on it with him as well, and
it looks like Kaden is catching on to the whole lounging-on-the-couch-with-a-remote-in-hand-thing pretty well! ;) (Jason & Julia got Kaden's 6-month pictures done, and they turned out
so cute!!! See the entire album
here!) We went to Jordan Creek Town Center next, and walked the mall for a good 4 hours or so. It was so fun, and Kaden was so good the whole time!!! He just let us shop and shop without any complaints. (Now that's a good husband in the making! Baby girls everywhere, take note!) We stopped for refreshment after a while at Orange Julius, and then for supper we hit the Cheesecake Factory!! SO YUMMY!!! Grandma had never been to the Cheesecake Factory before, so Julia and I made sure that she had a piece of cheesecake before we left! We ordered the Chocolate Raspberry one, and it was
amazing!!! I think we got the Cheesecake Factory a new fan! ;) Of course, Julia and I also each brought home a piece of cheesecake to our wonderful husbands who let us go shopping for a whole day!

Here we all are at the end of our shopping excursion!
So, once again I am reveling in the city life! Grandma and Julia wanted to go shopping, so they came here and I got to go with them! It's so strange how my life has flip-flopped since moving to WDM. It used to be such a big deal to try to get to the mall, and I never got to see family for a day just because they happened to be 'in town.' I am truly blessed!!! That day was so fun, and I hope there will be many more of those days to come!!!
