Laura's Wedding

This past weekend we had another VoP member get married! Laura married Andrew on Saturday, June 28th. I was so happy that we were able to go to her wedding!! At first, we thought we would still be at Northland by the time Laura's wedding day came around, in which case we would not be able to make the drive down. I was so sad whenever I thought about missing out on Laura's wedding. I missed Charity's about a year and a half ago, and that was hard enough! But, now that we are only 3 hours away, we are able to make it to Granada for things like that!!!! Yay!! :D I was also really happy because we not only got to go to her wedding, but we got to be part of her wedding too!! I played the piano for most of the ceremony music, and the illustrious and accomplished Mrs. Clay (my musical inspiration since childhood!) played for the prelude, recessional, and postlude. And Jordan got to be the lucky guy who rolled out the white runner for the bride to walk down on! :) He also ran the slideshow after the wedding was over. His skills are not only amazing, but very versatile! ;)

We arrived in Granada Friday afternoon, and definitely hit the ground running! Julie & Jess & Charity wanted to practice wedding music (they sang a trio and Julie sang a solo), and I needed to do some last-minute music prep as well! The rehearsal started at 6 and went for two hours! :P The best part was that afterward we had a scrumptious (or at least it seemed scrumptious....I was so hungry, that just about anything would have been scrumptious by then!) catered meal at the Holiday Inn.

Laura's wedding started at 2:30, but of course I got over there early to be a part of some of the preparations and picture-taking!!! :)

One really fun part about Laura's wedding was that the girls in her wedding party were all friends of ours from Northland! Danielle, Megan, and Amy all became friends with Jess & Laura during the two years that they were at Northland. We got to know them because Jess & Laura would bring them down to the apartment with them sometimes. We had lots of good times together, so it was really fun to see them again! Keri is Andrew's little sister, and was also my camper at Northland almost 5 years ago!!! How cool is that?! :D

The wedding ceremony went smoothly. It was very sweet and pretty, but also a little sad since Laura will be moving to Indiana now! She will be missed so much by her church family in Minnesota (especially a particular sister of mine!)!

The reception was held in a big white tent in the yard outside the church. It looked so cool! Unfortunately, the weather did not really cooperate. :( The wind was really high all day, and by the end of the wedding ceremony, the heavens had opened up and started to pour rain! :P Everything was wet and cold. What a bummer! You would never know it was so yucky out if you looked at Laura, though! Everything was rosy in her eyes! ;)

So, Andrew and Laura are off on their honeymoon now!!! Yay! :D What a pretty wedding and wonderful time of celebration with friends!
