USA Days

This past weekend we went to Fairfax, IA to celebrate USA Days with Jason and Julia!

Jessica drove down to our house Thursday afternoon and we went to see "The Dark Knight" together. She had the same reaction I did in regards to how that movie turned out! Friday morning Jess & I went to Panera so she could use the internet there and get a little school work done. Then in the afternoon we all headed over to Fairfax so Jordan could play in the softball tournament with Jason & Julia. Jordan's mom and sisters came over with Grant so he could play as well! We all had a good time watching the game together and watching Macy explore the area. :) Jordan's team won their first game, but they lost their second game that night. Jason played pitcher, but sustained an injury during the second game. The batter hit the bat straight back at him, and hit Jason in his right hand. Jason wasn't able to pitch anymore after that! :( After softball, we went to Jason & Julia's house to hang out. The boys helped Jason get things ready for the parade on Saturday (Jason's bank was in the parade), and we girls played with Kaden and chatted. Julia's mom was up visiting as well, so it was fun to see her again too! :) We spent the night with Jordan's family.

On Saturday morning, we drove back over to Fairfax for the big parade! :) Jason and Julia were in the parade and they had Julia's mom pull Kaden in a wagon along with them! Jessica also walked in the parade and helped give out the cool bracelets they had. We all watched and tried to gather as much candy as we could! Anna was especially good at getting candy! :) In the afternoon, Jason, Julia, Jordan, and Grant played some more softball. This time they won both games, so they ended up winning the tournament! :D Julia made the game-winning catch in the first game (it was a line-drive to her at 3rd base), and Jordan made the game-winning catch in the second game (a pretty high hit that went out to left-field)!!! We all cheered like crazy! :D In the evening, Jason grilled hamburgers & hotdogs for us and we had fun hanging around Jason & Julia's again. It was great! After supper, we all went out to the front lawn to wait for the fireworks (Fairfax's 4th of July celebration had been postponed to this night because of the flooding that happened earlier in the summer). The fireworks were amazing and it was fun to be able to watch them from the front yard! Kaden was especially enthralled with them, and hardly took his eyes off the sky at all! :) By the time we went back to Jordan's family's house, we were all SO tired! Grant fell asleep, and Jordan had me take a picture of him in the backseat because he looked like a zombie! Haha! (So blame Jordan, Grant, okay?! Heehee!)

I will post stuff from Sunday later! I also have some adorable Kaden-videos showcasing Kaden's new tricks! :)
