We arrived Christmas Eve and spent a couple hours chatting and hanging out before heading to bed. Anna and I also practiced a couple Christmas duets together!
Jordan's family has the tradition of opening presents Christmas morning as soon as everyone is awake. These days, it's probably not as early in the morning as it used to be, since almost all the kids are grown up now! But, Anna still tries to convince everyone to get up early so we can open presents! This year, Jordan, Grant, and Dad decided to go pheasant hunting Christmas morning. It was only with much persuading that we convinced them to come in at 9:30 or so! Then, when they did come in, Jordan came up to me (and I should have been suspicious since he had one hand behind his back) and put a dead pheasant right in my face!! It was VERY YUCKY!!! :P
Nana, Jordan's Great Grandma, spent Christmas Eve and most of Christmas Day with us! She is a treasure, and it was so fun to have her there!
Anna got a hair straightener for Christmas from Andria. We had a hair-straightening lesson that afternoon!
Another Christmas Day tradition of the Horak's is to get together for supper with the Horak uncles and aunts. It's always fun to get to see everyone again!
Cousins - Lance, Lindy, and Leah (and I can't remember the boyfriend's and girlfriend's names! Sorry!)
Jordan even demonstrated that he still knows how to play the piano. I think his parents were shocked! I don't think they'd heard him play since he quit taking lessons about 10 years ago!
Friday was a relaxing day around the house. We girls did our hair and make-up together, then we played games for most of the morning. We also had a little photo shoot with all of us 'kids.' It turned out to be quite an ordeal!
As soon as they were released from their pose, the boys broke into a tickle fight! I didn't realize before how ticklish Luke was! :D
Daniel showed up in the afternoon, so he joined in on some games and playing Wii. Later in the afternoon/evening, the boys worked on butchering the deer they had shot earlier this month. There were 8 deer!!! Back in the house, we developed an assembly line for wrapping the meat. This was my first time being involved in butchering a deer! I still have a lot to learn! Haha!
Jordan & I drove home Saturday morning, after making a stop at Jason & Julia's to wish Kaden a happy birthday. I'll post pictures of that later!
