Update on Baby Horak - 16 Weeks Pregnant

It's time for a growth spurt! In the next few weeks, our baby will double in weight and add inches of length. Right now, our baby is about 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. The legs are much more developed, the head is even more erect than it has been, and the eyes have moved closer to the front of the head. The ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of the scalp has begun, and toenails have even begun growing. And there's a lot happening inside our baby as well. For example, the heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as our baby continues to develop.

Me? I'm getting bigger!!!!! I'll try to take a picture again next week. ;)
