Mother's Day

We had another busy day of 'family fun' on Sunday!  We started off the morning with some cinnamon rolls and then we all went to church together.  Afterwards, since the weather was absolutely gorgeous once again, we decided to take Kaden to a nearby park to play.  Of course, we 'big kids' didn't mind the opportunity to 'play' at the park, either!  ;)

I guess I'm not sure which day this picture was taken, but thought it was cute!  Kaden discovered the deer antlers that we had sitting by the fireplace, and was very curious about them.  So, Uncle Jordan gave Kaden a little education (on a 1-yr-old's level, of course) about deer, complete with picture illustrations.  Future hunting buddy, I'm thinking!  Heehee!

Kaden loves slides these days!  I think he thought it was really neat to be able to go down with both Mom & Dad on this cool 3-person slide!

Jess was trying to take a picture of Julie & I on the swings when Jordan decided to lunge in front of the camera.  I thought this picture turned out hilarious!

Julie & I played a game of 'see-who-can-kick-their-shoes-the-farthest' like we used to do when we were little.  I only beat Julie once...I'm not sure what her technique is, but it was definitely working better than mine!

Again, we were trying to get a picture, and Jordan decided to be a ham.  :P

A successful sisters shot

I guess I was enjoying the slide quite a bit!  Haha!

Jordan was climbing all over everything at the playground (including a climb all the way across the swingset Julie & I were on in a previous picture)!  He went up and down the fireman's pole so easily that we had to make it a little harder by challenging him to do it upside-down!  :D

My guy is amazing!!  I remember the first time I saw him do this 'flagpole' maneuver was at Northland on one of the poles outside the White Chapel.  It was very impressive!  And, I might add, it's much harder than it looks!

Jess gave it a shot, and sort of got it.  Jason just happened to snap the picture during the 10th of a second that she had herself in the air!  Heehee!

Julie tried it too.  I put it on my list of things to do after I get rid of my basketball-sized tummy.  ;)

We are so cool in our sunglasses!  8)

I really like this picture of the boys.  (Or should I say "Da Boyz"?)  They look so cool.  I can just hear the "Chariots of Fire" music in the background as they walk in slow-mo across the playground.  Jordan looks like a gangster with his sunglasses, black t-shirt, and Kaden slung upside-down over his arm!  Tough guy!  Haha!

We left the playground with hungry tummies, so we decided to take Mom to Cracker Barrel (one of her favorite restaurants) for dinner.  Thankfully we didn't have to wait for too long before they were able to seat us (although the rocking chairs on the front patio were very comfortable)!

I think I have Jess to thank for this picture, and Julia for the editing.  Our little girl was pretty active after our trip to the playground!  :)

Me with Mom & Julie at Cracker Barrel

Jordan had ridden his motorcycle to the playground and then to Cracker Barrel.  Julie & Jess were enjoying getting rides on it with him all weekend (and I had to be satisfied with enjoying riding vicariously through them, since Jordan refuses to give me rides right now), and we all decided Mom needed to take a ride on the way home from Cracker Barrel (we don't live very far from the restaurant, so it was just a short ride).

Here's Julie getting Mom all 'helmeted' up for her big ride!

What do you think?  Does she look a little nervous?!  Heehee!

Not to be out-done by his grandma, Kaden allowed us to sit him down on the motorcycle with Uncle Jordan for a quick photo op when we got home.  Of course, he had to keep his blankie with him, which kinda detracted from the cool-guy look...but I think this picture is adorable!!!

Julia went for a short ride too.  In spite of his promises to 'go slow,' we could hear Jordan accelerate pretty hard after turning the corner!  I didn't hear Julia scream, though!  She was a good sport!  ;)

Jordan and Jess

Since the weather was so nice, we spent the rest of the afternoon sprawled out on a blanket in the backyard!  We chatted and played a little Dutch Blitz while Macy hunted the perimeter for the 127,295,103rd time (her favorite pastime in the backyard).  JaJuKa and Julie left that evening.  Mom & Jess stayed another night, so we went through the bags of clothes Julia had brought so they could see them all.  I know, we're such girls!  Haha!  ;)  Monday morning, we went out for breakfast at Panera and then Mom & Jess had to get going home so Mom could work that afternoon.  I was so not ready for them to leave yet!  I tried to allay my feelings of depression by cleaning the house, but a clean house is just not quite as much fun as a full one!!

You guys really always have so much fun when you are all together. I love reading about all of your adventures that you have as a family. Its so cool you can all get together so often. It makes me slightly jealous. :-) You're looking great! One thing I thought about jordan touching your stomach, I wanted Richard to be able to feel Carson every time the baby moved. :-) And that was a lot, but we never got tired of feeling him move around. :)
