A Girl Day

Growing up in a tiny town with the nearest good shopping almost an hour away conditioned my Mom and sisters and I to be able to be able to shop hard for an entire day when we did manage to get to a mall! Mankato was always our shopping destination in those days, and we grew to love the River Hills Mall. Even to this day, now that I live on the west side of Des Moines where the shopping is the stuff my girlhood dreams were made of, I find myself feeling a special kind of excitement whenever I get to shop in Mankato with my Mom and sisters. I suppose it's because we just have so many memories wrapped up there!

Anyway, enough with the reminiscing! Saturday we spent the whole day out shopping. Seriously. We didn't get home till, what? Nine, I think! Crazy, I know. Thankfully, Serena is very accommodating for my shopping fetish!!

We snapped a few pictures before leaving the hotel:

And, of course, we pulled the camera out a few times at the mall:

Serena fast asleep. Check out those droopy cheeks!

Enjoying some time with Serena's reflection (she loves mirrors!)

After we got home, we stayed up till about 1am watching a movie! I think it's safe to say that sleep was not exactly a high priority that weekend, haha! :D

I love the ruffles on the back of this sleeper! Cute, cute!

Serena got to fall asleep in Grammie's arms that night!
