Jordan's old roommate Chad (who was also our 'Kampus Kid' for 3 years) got married on June 5! We didn't know his bride (she didn't come to Northland until after we had left), but she seems like a wonderful, sweet girl and a perfect match for Chad! We were so happy to be at their wedding and partake in all the festivities! Jordan was a groomsman and really enjoyed the time spent with old friends. Meanwhile, Serena and I enjoyed a mall, the hotel, TLC, and the pool. It was a very relaxing weekend for us, while Jordan was busy with wedding preparations, rehearsal, pictures, and stuff like that.
Jordan took Serena for her first swim in a pool when we got back from the rehearsal dinner. She was a little nervous at first, but started to like it pretty quickly. I remember when we took Kaden swimming in the lake when he was like 7 months old, and he just kicked and kicked. Serena was the opposite. She crossed her sweet little ankles and just enjoyed floating around!
Look at me playing in the water!
After the rehearsal and dinner, Chad and a couple groomsmen came to hang out at the pool with Jordan. So, after Serena's little swim, she and I went up to our room and I put Serena to bed (it was after 10 o'clock, after all!!) and then watched some TLC. :) Jordan showed up around midnight (Chad's self-imposed curfew)!
Wedding day dawned hot and sunny, and Jordan had to be at the church for pictures at 9:30. Besides one of the groomsmen dropping his tux jacket in a lake, the pictures were pretty uneventful. ;D Meanwhile, Serena and I enjoyed a long swim in the pool and then she took a nap while I got ready for the wedding and packed things up.
I got to the church early enough to say hi to Jordan and then drop Serena off at the nursery. This weekend was the first time that we've ever left Serena in nursery. I was a little nervous (she was teething, too, poor baby!), but it went very smoothly. She was interested in the nursery workers and the other kids, so when the nursery worker reached out for her, Serena leaned towards her and stretched out her arms! The nursery worker then walked into the nursery with her, and my little girl never so much as gave me a parting glance! ;P When I came back for her, she was playing happily, though she was pretty anxious for me to pick her up once she saw me. The workers said she did really well and was mimicking sounds to them! I was so glad!
The wedding was so sweet and very pretty. Chad and McKenna were so happy!
