Mothering

Becoming a parent really changes your life. That sounds so cliche. It's true, though. From the moment I found out I was expecting Serena, my brain started thinking BABY and it hasn't quit since! Before pregnancy, I wanted a baby...but just a 'baby' in the most romantic of terms. I honestly hadn't thought/chose not to think about everything that having a baby entailed.

Pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, sleep, lifestyle, baby food, communicating, teaching/disciplining, more babies.... Those were all things I started thinking about after becoming pregnant. And then, I suddenly became passionate in my pursuit of learning about mothering. I've read so many books, articles, online forums, listened to sermons, researched the Bible, etc. Now, a little more than two years after that first positive pregnancy test, I have finally admitted to myself that a mom I am, and a mom I will always be (both a beautiful and somewhat scary thought)!

So, I'm going to embrace this stage of my life and start writing about what's important to me in the area of parenting. In between my little posts about our lives and what we're up to, I'll be doing a series of posts about the topics listed above. I'm open to discussion if you want to add another perspective to what I write, or questions if something doesn't make sense to you. Otherwise, feel free to just read and glean from the information that I've gathered! I hope it's a help to someone else!

"Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
the fruit of the womb a reward."
~Psalm 127:3
