What a week it's been! I became very suddenly and horribly ill Tuesday night. Our night out, no less!!! Boohoo! That night's rest was pretty much non-existent. The next day, everyone started out fine, but by 10am Serena was on the couch. She actually only threw up once around 3, but still stayed on the couch the Entire. Day. That was SO weird!!! I probably jinxed us myself, because just on Sunday I had mentioned to Jordan about "so many people posting pictures of their sick kids totally vegged out on the couch" and "Isn't it strange that none of our kids have ever been so sick that they wouldn't play but just laid on the couch all day???" Anyway, so there she was the entire day...right where I WANTED TO BE!!!!!! Meanwhile, I was trying to keep Bret from touching her, talking to her, looking at her...you know, all the things girls can't tolerate from their brothers when they're not feeling well. ;) So, she laid on the couch all day Wednesday and Thursday. She'd developed a pretty stuffy head and a low-grade temp staying around 100, no matter if she was medicated or not. On Friday, she had a bit more perk to her, but it only lasted until about 11; then she returned to the couch. Honestly, her outward symptoms don't seem to be
that bad; but the fact that she is voluntarily staying on the couch (and remember, we don't have a TV and I choose not to let them watch stuff on my computer, so she's not watching any shows...just laying there) makes me think that she must be legitimately miserable! Poor little girl! Today, she was only on the couch for a couple hours, but still obviously not tops. Jordan, Bret and Cody still appear unscathed by The Bug.
The days have been so LOOOONNNGGGG. I feel like I have to stay on top of Bret so much more because if he gets bored, he's bugging Serena. I guess I didn't realize just how much they play together and keep each other occupied usually! It will most certainly be a wonderful day when Serena is up to playing again!!! With all this resting on the couch, Serena's nights have suddenly become very wakeful. Honestly, between the 3 kids, I haven't had more than an hour and a half of solid sleep over the last 3 nights (usually I can get at least
one solid 3-hr stretch!). And there have been a couple four-hour stretches of being awakened every 30-45 minutes. I
know things will eventually settle back down to normal - that knowledge is one of the blessings that comes with being a 3rd-time mom - but in the meantime, I'm pretty much running on fumes. And coffee.

These pictures were taken pre-illness! ;) No one told me how fun it would be to have a three year old!!!! Still, if anyone wants to just be on call for fielding her "why" questions, I'm taking numbers! ;) |

Found these coordinating outfits at Carters Outlet for $1.60 each!! Woohoo! |

Okay. Love the spaghetti face. Love the dinosaur slippers. This guy is one awesome package! He calls the slippers his "dinosaurs" and likes to say "rahhhrrrr!" when he's wearing them! I like chasing him because it's hilarious to watch him try to run in those things!!! ;D |

Jordan just got a new pair of sunglasses, and now Serena & Bret must have theirs, too. Serena says she needs hers so she can see better. Hmmm, not sure how that's working for her since she's only wearing them in the house (and our house is not particularly bright due to deplorable window size and placement!). As for Bret, he just thinks he's awesome like his Daddy. |

I loved catching this moment, because it is a pose you'd usually see her in with Cody; but since I had Cody at the time, she was enjoying some sweet babytalk with Olie! She's such a little momma!!! |

Our Rocky-boy needed a bottle, hahaha! I promise this was NOT staged by me or the kids. |
