Seven Month Old Cody Bear

Our "little" Cody Bear is 7 months old today!  He's weighing in at a very healthy 23 pounds and is as jolly as he looks!  ;)  He is still hanging within a few ounces of his Daddy's growth at the same age.  Cody is still exclusively breastfeeding, but usually stretching out his feedings to every 3-4 hours instead of every 2-3 as it had been before this month.  No teeth in sight yet!

He has been trying out some new vocalizations this past month and especially likes saying, "dada."  Cody scoots short distances very well, but doesn't really have a particular style.  Serena & Bret had very methodical army crawls, but Cody does more of a push-lean-plank-grunt-reach combo with no finesse whatsoever.  But he somehow manages to reach any desired item within sight.  Just this past week, he's been spending quite a bit of time practicing getting up on all fours.  Hopefully he'll be a more graceful crawler than he is scooter, heehee!  Cody's very sturdy sitting up now...to look at him, you'd think he should be...he's got a nice wide base to sit on!  ;)  So, this past week I finally "graduated" him from the sling to the cart when we were running our errands.  He was so pleased!  He did really well, and Serena & Bret thought it was great too!  Honestly, it is so fun to enjoy Cody with Serena and Bret!  Of course, there have been those frustrating, stretching times...but there have been so many wonderfully sweet times that I hardly remember the not-so-sweet times!  ;)

We just all love our Cody Bear so much!  What a great little guy he is!
