My Valentine

If you don't like reading sappy things, then I'll warn you here and now to stop reading! ;)

I am so thankful that God gave me Jordan. I am falling more in love with him every day!
God’s goodness to us constantly
overwhelms me. What an amazing thing to be able to enjoy the gift of marriage to a surrendered believer in Christ while preparing for a life of jointly serving God!
Another thing that surprises me is how much my perspective of God’s love has changed now that I have been married for a year and a half. (I know, that’s an incredibly long time! I must be so wise in matters of love and marriage now! Haha! Just kidding!) But seriously, there is no way to describe the love that Jordan shows towards me and that I feel towards him. He cherishes and nourishes me. He leads me and makes me a part of his life so that we are like a single unit on this journey.
Ephesians 5:25-33 describes God’s intention for marriage to reflect His own selfless and unconditional love for the Church. Befo
re I was married, I had observed this kind of love in my parent’s marriage and in others; but it is incredible to actually experience it. This is not to say that someone who is married to a husband who does not love them as he should or that someone who is not married at all cannot understand God’s love for them. I am just saying that being married to Jordan has opened my eyes to aspects of God’s love that were simply beyond my understanding before. And of course our love for each other is not always perfect and Godly! We fail; we are selfish. But to me the illustration is that much more poignant in those times as I realize that God’s love is unwavering even when I am so unlovable!

Praise the Lord for the profoundly mysterious and wonderful gift of marriage! Praise Him for His sovereignty and grace in giving each of us the perfect mate in His perfect timing!

"And if I lived a thousand years
You know I never could explain
The way I lost my heart to you
that day..."

"I love thee
With a love that shall not die
Till the sun grows cold
And the stars grow old."

What an incredible post, Jenn. I totally understand what you're saying - and you said it so perfectly! It's amazing to have someone who loves you - no matter what - and that you can share the gift of life with! What an incredible thing - as I'm learning over and over again!!

On a lighter note, we're coming over to NBBC for Springfest with the youth group from our church. Will you be there then? Maybe I can sneak away during the day and just chat with you! I miss you too!

Love, Jen
