Christmas-y Teen Activity

White Elephant Gift Exchanges are so fun! We had one with all the teens from our church on Saturday afternoon. We had quite an assortment of gifts to choose from:

To decide what order we would open gifts in, we had a contest. It was a fill-in-the-blank Christmas carol worksheet. The boys were working very hard...

Jessie was determined to find a 'catch' in the game...but there wasn't one! Heehee! :D

Emi got some Venitian weiners or something weird like that. I heard a rumor that Joey ended up eating them, but I'm not sure if I should believe it!!! Yuck!

I opened a present with this cute little Pooh bear inside! He was so cuddly! I thought for sure I was safe from having it stolen from me...after all, what teenager would want to give up an opportunity to unwrap a present and steal a Pooh bear instead?! So, I was safe, until the very end! Then Ben E. got to trade presents with anyone he chose since he had been the first person. He traded with me!!!! So, instead of this cute Pooh bear, I ended up with some mounted insects! :P As you might imagine, they did not go home with me!!! ;)

Jordan got this hat. Quite the work of art! I'm not sure who ended up bringing it home, but it wasn't us! :D

We also played a game where we were trying to unwrap a $10 Wal-Mart gift card. The catch was that it was wrapped inside of a box inside of a box inside of a box inside of a box...you get the idea. And we had to unwrap it while wearing a jersey and some mismatched gloves! We passed some dice around and if you rolled double sixes or double ones you got a chance to unwrap the present until the next person rolled it. Amazingly, I rolled the right doubles 7 or 8 times!!! But, even though I ended up doing most of the unwrapping of the present (I was in there more often than anyone else!), I didn't win the gift card in the end. :( It was really fun though!

After all our fun, we spent some time in smaller groups reading the Christmas account from the Bible and praying. Then we enjoyed this wonderful spread of goodies:

A guitar how fun! I hope you have great success in teaching yourself to play. I don't know if I could be that disciplined. Merry Christmas!
