Excursions

On Saturday, we started off our morning with a trip to Mrs. O'Neil's. When we kids were growing up, we used to go to the O'Neil's house on a weekly basis. Jason would do their yard work and Jules and Jess and I would play with the O'Neil's old toys. Usually we would end up helping rake the yard before we left too. After all the yard work was done, Mr. O'Neil would pop a bag of microwave pop corn (he had the timing down to perfection!) and get out some ice cream treats for us to enjoy. Then we would just sit around and talk. Mr. O'Neil had lots of neat stories to tell about growing up during the Depression and stuff like that. He also could recognize about every bird's song that there is! God took Mr. O'Neil home several years ago, and then Mrs. O'Neil moved to Watertown to be closer to her children. Since then, we haven't gotten to see her as often; so this trip was a special treat! I am so thankful for her influence in my life! I am also thankful that my parents took the time to help us make friendships with godly elderly people!

Mrs. O'Neil and the 4 J's

After our visit with Mrs. O'Neil, we drove over to Milwaukee to spend the rest of our afternoon there. We went to "Discovery World" upon Junior's recommendation. It was really neat! There were lots of cool things to look at and things that we could try out for ourselves. They also had a remarkable aquarium that we really enjoyed too!

Levitating
(Don't ask me what the purpose of this contraption is, because I honestly do not know! But, it was basically this platform that we stood on and then it raised up in the air an inch or so. It was a really weird feeling!)

Me, Kaden, Mom, Grandma, and Julie at the aquarium

In the aquarium, they had some tanks that were designed for letting visitors 'pet' the fish! It was one of the neatest things I had ever seen! They took the 'stingers' out of the sting ray, etc., so it was perfectly safe! Some of the fish even seemed to like being pet!

Before we left Discovery World, we stepped out on the balcony for some pictures.

(I like this one!) :)

We had to wait for everyone to be ready to go, so of course we took some more pictures! ;)

JaJuKa family picture!

By the time we were done at Discovery World, we were all famished! Doug and Julie knew of a great pizza place in Milwaukee (too bad I can't remember the name of it!), so we went there for 'slupper.' Here we all are (minus Doug, who was taking the picture):
