Jordan's Graduation

Saturday, May 10th was Jordan's graduation! He now has a Masters in Biblical Studies! (And, no, I have not started calling him 'Master' as a result.) ;) Graduation day was absolutely beautiful! The ceremony began at 10am, and I had a great seat...right on the aisle in row number 6! :) The ceremony was very good. Dr. Davy addressed the graduates and was a great challenge and encouragement. After graduation, we got to catch up with a lot of old friends who were in town for the event, so that was fun. We went down to the Pines for a great noon meal, and I actually got a little sunburn while we were there! :) After that, we went home and got ourselves decked out for a motorcycle ride!!! We went in to Iron Mountain and stopped at Storheims for some frozen custard. (It is seriously The Best Place to get ice cream! Unfortunately, they're also pretty expensive, so we don't go there very often.) After Storheims, we went to ShopKo and bought ourselves a Wii!!!!!! We'd been talking about it, and they had one there, so we decided it was time! :) We are absolutely loving it! Of course, now with the move on the horizon, our Wii-time will be very limited for a while. :P It didn't fit in the motorcycle's saddle bags very well, but we managed to get it home. Where there's a will there's a way! ;) Later in the evening, we took the motorcycle over to the Gearhart's for Trevor's open house (he graduated with his Master's that day, too). By that time, the sun had gone behind the clouds, and we all froze, but we had a good time fellowshipping with the many friends who were there. Of course, once we got home, we spent the rest of the evening challenging each other to Wii games! :) It was definitely a fun and memorable day!

Being congratulated by Dr. Olson & Dr. Horn

Jordan & Pastor Markham

Pastor Chodan & Jordan
(Jordan did an internship at Pastor Chodan's church out in Pennsylvania in Summer '04. Pastor Chodan was a huge influence on Jordan during the months that Jordan was at Highland Baptist Church. He also encouraged Jordan to pursue further education after finishing college, something that Jordan was strongly considering. It's neat to see how God used Pastor Chodan that summer!
)

Mr. Belford & Jordan
(We have enjoyed getting to know the Belfords more over the last few years. Mr. Belford is the head of the Grad Studies Department here at Northland and also an assistant pastor at our church. He and his wife have been a great encouragement to Jordan & I.)

Dr. Olson and Jordan
(Dr. Olson has definitely played a big part in our lives ever since he came to Northland! He is the kind of person that leads by example. Jordan has really enjoyed being able to get to know Dr. Olson on a more personal level since Jordan started working under Bobby Wood in the Administrative Wing. Dr. Olson is one of those people who constantly encourages and challenges you spiritually while still being a very approachable person.)

Jordan and I
(With my stupid hair in my face! Grrr!!!)

I'm so proud of Jordan! He took on so many credits this semester, we were sort of wondering how it was all going to work out! But, he definitely buckled down and showed exemplary discipline as he consistently not only kept up with his school work but got awesome grades on the things he did! And in the meantime, he found plenty of time to spend with me, as well as to give lots and lots of haircuts, to cultivate friendships, and to be heavily involved in the youth group at our church!

Jordan, you never cease to amaze and challenge me! I feel privileged to be your wife and to be a part of whatever God has in store for you in His ministry! I love you, Honey!
