A Great Weekend with Mom & JaJuKa

We hosted our first guests in our new house this past weekend!

Jason, Julia, and Kaden drove over Friday evening and stayed until Sunday morning. I got to babysit Kaden for a few hours Friday night while Jason & Julia went on a date for Jason's birthday! :) It was so much fun! We played with some balls and made noise with some measuring cups in the kitchen. :) Kaden got mad at me when I changed him into his pajamas, but thankfully he didn't stay mad at me! He ended up going to bed really well later too!

Saturday morning, we all waited around the house for Mom to arrive. When she finally got here, we girls took off with Kaden for some shopping time and left the boys to do whatever boys do when they're left to themselves without female intervention. ;) We girls stopped for lunch at our fave Mexican restaurant before hitting the mall. Kaden did really well just letting us shop all afternoon!

Here's Kaden waiting outside a store with Grandma while Julia & I were shopping

A little mischievity going on, I think (By the way, is 'mischievity' a word? Google didn't give it a red line under it?)

Before heading home, we stopped at the grocery store for some supper fixin's. :) We made a big meal of chicken fettucine alfredo, homemade breadsticks, and jeweled spinach salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Mmmmm!!! There was pie for dessert later...Apple & Pear Pie or Nestle Tollhouse Pie. :)

After we ate, we watched Kaden putting on a show with his walker. What a cutie!! :D

Later, we girls had some Very Important Conversations regarding the future painting and decorating of our house. It's so nice to have such a talented interior decorator in the family! :) While we were talking over all of our grand ideas, the boys (including Kaden) tried to fix our cool, although crooked, light fixture.

A man's job

We stayed up Way Too Late on Saturday night gabbing about everything we could think of! :D On Sunday morning, Jason, Julia, and Kaden left early to make it in time to their church in Tama. I managed to get a picture of them before they left. :)

Love this little family! ;)

I think Kaden didn't want to leave already (I just had to take a picture of his adorable 'mad face!')

Mom went to church with us Sunday morning and then took us out to eat at Applebees! :D She and I were planning to go shopping again that afternoon, but by the time we got home we were so tired that we ended up just taking naps. That night after church, we baked up a storm in the kitchen!! We made Oreo Balls and Chocolate Revel Bars.

On Monday Mom and I decided to get up early to catch up on the lost shopping hours of Sunday afternoon. ;) We had so much fun hanging out together! Mom got quite a bit of Christmas shopping done. It was such a wonderful day! By the time we were done we were pretty tired, and poor Mom still had to drive all the way home! At least she only lives three hours away now!! :)

Mom and I - We had so much fun with all our girl time! :)

My parents along with my sister and her family are coming for Thanksgiving. My mom, sister, and I are all going shopping in Green Bay on Friday while we leave the men with the kids! Your post has made me so excited to go shopping with the girls again! Funny how I miss that so much! Nothing is like shopping with your mom and sister! :-)
