The Christmas Decorations Are Up!

With Christmas just 8 days away, I am finally starting to feel ready! I got the Christmas decorations up this weekend, and I put in a full day of Christmas shopping on Saturday. I have yet to wrap the presents that I bought, but I have some other things taking priority right now. One of those being a gig that I have coming up on Friday. I'm going to play holiday piano music for a luncheon in the Des Moines Club, so I've been putting in time preparing for that. Should be fun! I'm definitely looking forward to being in the Des Moines Club again! :) Christmastime is definitely making itself felt in the air lately. Our weather has gotten extremely wintry, making me once again think enviously of Those People who are vacationing in Florida this week! ;)

I posted the pictures of the Christmas decorations below. I think I've done this every year since I started my blog almost 3 years ago! :) I had fun finding places for everything in our house! I'm hoping next year to have a nice big artificial tree, but for this year at least we're making do with our little 2-footer. :) It's cute!

Our little Christmas Tree

The front room window

One of my favorite little snowmen figurines. He's so jolly! :)

Our Nativity set - up on top of the bookcase from Nana (Jordan's great-grandma)

Pinecones and ribbons

I put pinecones and some red ornaments in this jar. I wish I had some ornaments just a little smaller; they would have fit better. But I think it turned out okay anyway. I really love the big green satiny bow!

One of the wreaths I made last year. They were so perfect for the window I used them for last year, but they look pretty small in our house now!

I put this garland up over the mantle. Now I just need some stocking hangers!

A few decorations on the built-in shelves

My little Christmas tree that I used to put on my desk at work in Maintenance at Northland. Thad Smith made the star out of some scrap metal for me. I decorated it with little snowmen ornaments and red and white ball ornaments. Isn't it cute? :)
