Easter Weekend

Easter weekend certainly seemed to sneak up on me this year!  I still feel like we just celebrated Christmas!  I'm glad the snow is gone, though.  :)

We drove over to Springville last Friday to be with Jordan's family for Easter.  We hadn't even been there a whole hour and Serena had a lovely blowout.  Not as spectacular as her last, but she did earn a change of clothes.  :P

Saturday afternoon, Luke & Anna and Daniel, Andria & Caroline came over so we could all spend some time together.  It was fun to see Caroline again!  She's five weeks old now!  Daniel & Andria had her all dressed up in her Easter dress so we could see her in it since they wouldn't be with us on Easter Sunday.  So, I dressed Serena up in her Easter dress as well so we could do a little photo shoot.  Kari mentioned that she has heard that Anne Geddes has like 40 people assisting her for each photo shoot, and after trying to photograph Serena & Caroline with the help of only 5 people, I can totally appreciate that!

My little darling

"Why is she crying?"
Caroline:  "Is it over yet?"
Serena:  "The fun is just beginning!"

Caroline:  "I'm watching you, girl!"
Next, we tried another nearly impossible feat...taking a picture of Andria & I with Caroline & Serena.  Oh dear!
This is probably the best picture we got!

I love this:  Smiling mommies, crying Caroline,
and Serena the escapee
Serena kept reaching for Caroline, which was probably not helping Caroline's mood very much!

A conglomeration of our photo shoot results...there were like ninety-some pictures, I think!

Serena getting an early start in firearm education.  She already handles the Kahr PM9 like a pro!

Jordan gave Serena a ride on the four-wheeler, and she LOVED it!!  She screamed with excitement and seemed to be having a great time!  (This was taken on Sunday, hence Jordan's collared shirt...he normally does NOT wear a collared shirt to ride the four-wheeler, heehee!)
We attended church with Luke & Anna at Maranatha Bible Church on Sunday.  Serena garnered many admiring glances and exclamations with her pretty dress and big flowered headband!  It was fun to see all the other little girls dressed up in their Easter dresses, too!  Serena enjoyed the song service in Grandpa's arms, but then she let it be known that she was not going to last through the rest of the service!  Even though I didn't get to hear the sermon (Serena needed to nurse), I did get to have a nice conversation with a mommy who had a two-month-old girl who was visiting from Phoenix, so that was fun!  :)  We came back into the auditorium during the last song.  The Pastor wrapped things up with a closing prayer, and just as he said "Amen," Serena caught a glimpse of a baby and let out one of her trademark screams of delight!!!  We were glad she waited until the "Amen" part, haha!

After church, we all headed out to Grandma & Pa's for Easter dinner.  Luke & Anna and Daniel, Andria & Caroline didn't get to come because they all had family things with their respective 'other' sides.  ;)  But Kari's brother Scott and his wife Jennifer were there with their 4-month-old boy, James; and Kari's other brother Drew and his wife Beth were there with their 6 kids.  So there was a full house and lots of kiddos!  Of course, Grandma cooked up a delicious meal!  :)
Jordan demonstrating Serena's strength.  He can hold her by the thighs and she will stay stiff as a board as he lowers her upside down and then lifts her upright again!

Pa lets the grandkids take turns giving the other grandkids (and now great-grandkid!) rides with his lawnmower

Serena in her Moby wrap.  Kari, Beth, and I took a walk with Serena and Chloe (Beth's baby)

Serena with Nana (her great-great-grandma).  As you can see in the top right picture, Serena was especially intrigued by Nana's earrings!

Sweet baby faces.  The thing she's doing with her mouth in the big picture looks like Jordan, I think!

More pictures of our activities out at Grandma & Pa's.  Jordan and Serena took a ride on the trike.  Later, Jordan, Grant, and Pa rode bikes up and down the road while Macy chased them.  Of course, all good things must come to an end, which happened when Macy decided to go take a mud bath in the ditch!  :P

It was a wonderful weekend!  On our way home we stopped by Jason & Julia's.  They were outside watching Kaden ride his little quad around.  Looks like so much fun...I wonder what the weight limit is on that thing?  Haha!  ;)  They're all getting excited about Keira's imminent arrival!  So are we!

Hope you all had a good Easter too!  He is risen!
