Conversations

Last night, Serena was so wound up that we could hear her talking in her bed till almost 10:30! Her lost sleep is pretty obvious today, though.  She was VERY emotional this morning! At one point, she was asking daddy for a cat and he was nonchalantly answering without paying much attention.  His answers were more to make me laugh than anything, and Serena was getting frustrated.  Suddenly, she just melted into the saddest tears!  Poor Jordan had his work cut out for him trying to explain why we couldn’t get a cat and make his little girl happy again!

Serena asked Jordan what he does at work.  She’s asked him before, and knows that he sells mattresses; but it’s pretty typical for her to want to ‘rehash’ conversations like that.  ;)  “Well, I go to work to make money,” Jordan answered.  Serena got the funniest look on her face as she thought about his answer.  Finally, she said, “No…you go to work to sell beds!”  The tone of her voice and the accompanying expression and tilt of the head totally said, “You can’t fool me, Daddy!”
