Big Kids

Bret & Serena are both getting to be such 'big kids' ---- or at least THEY think so!  ;)  Bret is all about doing things "ah-MYself!" (by myself)...to the point that we have to turn lights off twice (as Serena has not yet left that stage), shut doors twice, etc, etc, and SO FORTH.  Someone asked me the other day how I do it now with three littles.  My reply?  "V.E.R.Y. S.L.O.W.L.Y.!!!"  ;)

I was nursing Cody and on the phone with Mom this morning while Serena & Bret were playing with their babies.  They had run off down the hall to put their babies to sleepy, so it was quiet for a bit.  Suddenly, Serena was back and announced that Bret had gone outside to play.  I was like, “WHAT?!”  So I asked her if she‘d opened the door for him (I wasn‘t sure if this was for pretend or for real), and she said, “Yep!”  I told her it was too cold and wet for Bret to play outside and that he didn‘t have any shoes or a coat on.  “Oh, don’t worry,” she said.  “I put his boots on him!”  So thoughtful, haha!  I had her go let him back in, of course!

Bret loves to impress!  It makes him so happy when I notice how high/far he can throw something or how fast he can run or how big he can jump, etc.  In reality, he’s such a little guy still!  Barely 25 pounds and in the 25th percentile!  Makes the gap between him and Cody-bear seem even smaller!
