Packing Up

Still doing catch-up posts from before our move! ;)

Packing up with two babies was quite a feat. Since Serena is still of an age where it is more fun to unpack boxes than to pack them, I did most of the packing while Serena was sleeping. I did do some boxes towards the end while she was awake. I remember her bringing her Kitty over and 'packing' her in a box that I was packing. Awe. I think she was just trying to comprehend everything that we were doing as we turned her world inside out and upside down! Bret was fairly cooperative (for a 4-month old!) and somehow it all got done. I'll admit I often struggled with feeling overwhelmed, and I'm very glad to be on this side of the move!!!

Serena discovered some of my big plastic bracelets when I was emptying out our dresser. She loves playing dress-up with my shoes/clothes/jewelry!

"How do I look?"

Okay, I always get a chuckle out of this! Serena discovered that things often get stuck between her toes. Lint, dust, who-knows-what. Whenever she thinks of it (random multiple times in a day), she plops down, pulls up a foot and starts looking between each toe. She often talks/sings to herself while she does it, "Toe-sies, toe-sies, toe-sies...." If she finds some 'toe jam,' she picks it out with her finger and wipes it on the carpet, the high chair, her shirt, the dog...whatever is handy at the time! It's hilarious!

Bret usually takes his morning and evening naps in the sling :)

Serena thinks it's great that Bret smiles, laughs, 'talks,' and plays with toys now! When I put him down on the playmat, she lays down too and wants me to give her a toy or tickle her or do whatever I'm doing to Bret. It's so funny to watch her try to find the same enjoyment out of it that Bret does! :D

I'm sure it was such a busy time plus short notice for packing... bet you're glad it's behind you now!
