A Quick Long Trip

Well, we are all settled in our new home and I finally have internet! Woohoo! :) Now for some catch-up posts!

Over Memorial Day weekend, we took a quick trip up to Iowa to visit The Oaks and see if it was the right 'fit' for us. I think it took us 13 hours on Thursday to drive up. We only stopped 3 times. We spent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with the L's; and then we headed back home on Monday (more than 14 hours in the truck that time since we were pulling a trailer). The kids were such troopers! Well, Serena especially. Bret may or may not have spent the entire time in his carseat. ;) Poor baby.

We passed Joplin on our drive. What we could see of the tornado devastation from the interstate was pretty incredible and sad.

Since The Oaks is only a couple hours from Cedar Rapids, Jordan's parents came down for a day! It was so great to see them!
