The Dunbar Hilton

The Pioneer Village Project is a pretty major undertaking that Northland broke ground on August 2005. That fall, they built the first Bunkhouse, consisting of 4 cabins, and finished it in time for the summer camping season this year. This fall, they built the second bunkhouse, which is still in the process of being finished. Next year they hope to be able to build the third and final phase of the PV Project, which will be an Activity Center. The goal of the PV Project is to be able to hold camps here year-round.
Earlier this fall, as I was trying to make reservations for our family to be here for the recital, I found out that Northland's guest rooms were already all reserved for a High School Tournament the same weekend as my recital! AND all of the area hotels were booked because it is also the opening weekend for deer season! (It's the UP; need I say more!?!!?) So, I asked if the PV Bunkhouse #1 would be available, and thankfully Mr. Whitt, our Assistant Camp Director, gave permission for my guests to stay there! :) I'm so glad...it was SUCH an answer to prayer! So, I made this slideshow so that our guests can see where they will be staying! Most of these pictures were taken before the bunkhouse was completely finished, so the carpet was not yet laid in the loft area, and most of the bunkbeds were not assembled yet, but it'll give you an idea of what it will be like. Everything is brand new and you'll have a great view of the campus and the lake. Can't wait to see you all!!! Love you!!!!
