A Walk Around the Neighborhood

Here are some of the highlights of our new neighborhood:

The neighborhood pool & playground are the first things you see when you pull in. Well, that and the Walgreens across the street from the pool & playground! The pool is really nice and big. The depth ranges from 3-5 ft, I think. At either side is a 'shelf' that is only about 6" deep and since it is almost as wide as the pool and juts out a few feet, it was Serena's favorite place to wade around and play. We loved it too because we could swim alongside in the deeper water while she played in the shallow part! There is a 'splash pad' with a canopy over it as well, but we never used it since we had that shallow part in the pool for Serena to play on. The pool doesn't close until October 13th, but since it's not heated and the temps are getting pretty cool at night, no one is really using the pool anymore!

Here's a picture of the playground

Not even a whole block away from our house there's this nice little park area! It's really long and narrow, so it works really well for Jordan to give the dogs a little workout. The wooded area goes down to a finger of the Lewisville Lake. The water isn't really great back there for swimming or anything, though. Plus, that's where Macy found the snake on one of our first days here! So, we haven't done too much exploring back there! :P

This is part of the park in the above picture. The trails look nice right here at the entrance, but they get kinda overgrown pretty quickly once you get back there. I did manage to maneuver the jogging stroller back there once just to check out the lake with Jordan.

I just had to include this picture! It's our neighbor's house, and they just put these Halloween decorations out! Aren't they weird?! I mean, what is UP with that scary clown?! You should see that thing's face. It is WEIRD!!!! There are so many houses with such cute fall and Halloween decorations around our neighborhood, I just don't understand why we have to live next to the weird one with the scary clown!
